Privacy Policy — ErBiage

ErBiage ("ErBiage", "we", "us") is a family travel planning service. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We wrote it in plain language on purpose.

Who we are

What we collect

Account information — your email, display name, and password (stored hashed by our authentication provider). Optionally your role (adult or kid).
Family workspace data — trips, itineraries, hotels, flights, car rentals, ideas, votes, traveler profiles and any notes you add. Only members of your family workspace can see this data.
Contact form submissions — name, email and message when you write to us.
Technical data — browser type, device, approximate location from IP, and pages visited. When you accept cookies we may collect this via Google Analytics with IP anonymization enabled.

How we use it

To provide the service — save your trips and show them to your family.
To operate, secure and improve ErBiage.
To reply to your messages and provide support.
To send essential service emails (account confirmations, invites you request).
To measure aggregate usage so we know what to improve.

Legal bases (GDPR / UK GDPR)

We process personal data on the basis of your consent (analytics cookies), the performance of our contract with you (running your family workspace), and our legitimate interests in operating and securing the service.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share limited data with vetted service providers:

Our hosting and database provider (Supabase / Amazon Web Services).
Our analytics provider (Google Analytics) — only when you accept cookies.
In the future, payment providers when you purchase a subscription or a trip.
When required by law or to protect our users.

Data storage and security

Data is stored on managed infrastructure with encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Access to a family workspace is enforced at the database level using row-level security, so members of one family cannot see the data of another.

Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal profile within 30 days and, unless required by law, delete or anonymize your family data within 90 days.

Children

ErBiage is designed for families and children may use the app under the supervision of a parent or guardian who holds the account. We do not create standalone accounts for children under 13 and do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 outside the context of a parent-managed family workspace.

Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have rights to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, to object to certain processing, or to withdraw your consent. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@erbiage.com.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies. Essential cookies are required to keep you logged in. Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) load only after you tap "Accept" on our cookie banner and can be disabled at any time by clearing your browser storage for our site.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our practices change and revise the "Last updated" date. If the changes are material we will let you know inside the app or by email.
